The climate of Codrington (Antigua and Barbuda)
Codrington is the only and consequently largest town on the island of Barbuda. The total population of this village is almost 1,000 people. The village was named after its first governors: the Codringtons. The main source of income here are fishery and agriculture. The fortress which was built in the 16th century was completely destroyed by a heavy earthquake. The village has a few local shops. Codrington has a tropical savannah climate which has a dry and a wet period. The first half of the year is drier than the second half of the year. Because of the heavy rainfall humidity figures are much higher during the second part of the year. During this period there is also a risk of tropical storms and hurricanes. Daytime temperatures are around 30 degrees Celsius on average. The sea water is very pleasant; about 28 degrees Celsius.
