The climate of Houffalize (Belgium)
Houffalize is a very cosy village in the middle of the Ardennes. For walkers and mountain bikers Houffalize is an excellent starting point to discover the surroundings. Many mountain biking and walking trails start in Houffalize. However, they can be quite difficult because of the differences in altitude. The forests surrounding Houffalize are very beautiful. Especially during autumn they offer a beautiful and colorful spectacle. A WWII tank can be found in the center of Houffalize. During WWII there was very heavy fighting in Houffalize. Hardly any buildings prior to this period remain in Houffalize; the tank and several monuments are the only silent witnesses to this period. Houffalize gets a little more rain than the rest of Belgium. The moderate rainy climate is responsible for pleasant winters and pleasant summers with temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius on average.
