The climate of Santos (Brazil)
Santos is located in the south eastern part of Brazil in the state of São Paulo. Santos is the largest and most important port of Brazil and South America. A large part of Santos is located on the island of São Vicente, which has a surface area of 40 square kilometers. The island is shared with the neighboring borough of São Vicente. The island is divided into two parts by the Rio de São Jorge River. The part of the city that is situated on the island is very flat. The other part is far more hilly; the Atlantic Forest can be found here. One of the most beautiful spots of Santos is situated on the island: the Lagoa da Saudade.
Santos has a tropical climate with a wet and a dry period. Rain falls all year round with a peak during our winter. The least amount of rain falls during the local winter. However, more than 90 millimeters of rain per month is still a high figure. During this period temperatures may drop. However, 20 degrees Celsius on average is still very pleasant. During the summer temperatures may rise up to 40 degrees Celsius.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
