The climate of Sal Rei (Cape Verde)
Sal Rei is the capital of the island of Boa Vista which is part of the Barlavento Islands, Cape Verde. This village is becoming increasingly more popular among tourists who travel here to go diving and snorkeling. Off the coast of Sal Rei an uninhabited island is situated. The village has its own soccer stadium. Just outside the village Pico dÁntônia National Park can be found. Most ferries dock here and the interior can be reached from here via two roads. The village also has its own airport.
Sal Rei has a tropical savannah climate strongly influenced by the Harmattan wind that comes from the Sahara. These winds cause a dry and dusty air. Temperatures are constantly pleasant all year round. Precipitation figures are low all year round; during fall heavy showers are not uncommon. However, unfortunately these showers do not occur every year. The temperature of the sea is pleasantly warm all year round.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
