The climate of Djambala (Congo)
Djambala is located in the southeastern part of the Republic of Congo and is the capital of the Plateaux region. Most tourists travel to this region to visit Léfini Faunal Reserve. This reserve was established in the 1950s and has a surface area of 6,300 square kilometers. The reserve is mainly for the gorilla population that lives here. The gorillas that live here are protected and an ‘orphanage’ for baby gorillas that were left behind can be found here. These babies are brought up here and will be helped with their return into the wild. Djambala has a tropical monsoon climate characterized by fairly constant and high temperatures all year round. Precipitation figures are less stable. There is a distinct dry period in June, July and August. During the rest of the year heavy rainfall is not uncommon.
