The climate of Gorski Kotar (Croatia)
The mountainous region of Gorski Kotar is a popular winter sports destination during the winter. During the winter there is a lot of snowfall here which makes this region an excellent winter sports area. Winters here are much colder than in other parts of Croatia. During most of the days in winter temperatures remain below freezing point. During the summer temperatures rise to 18-20 degrees Celsius, which makes this area too cold for the majority of tourists. This region is among the wettest in Europe. During the winter precipitation mostly falls in the form of snow. During the summer chances of rain are reasonably high as well. However, most of the rain falls in the form of showers.
