The climate of Jan Thielbaai (Curaçao)
Jan Thielbaai (bay) is a popular beach in Willemstad, Curacao. The beach is situated in the southeastern part of Willemstad. The beach is mainly popular because of the many resorts that can be found here. For those who don’t stay in one of these resorts there is an entrance fee for the beach. A large restaurant can be found on the beach. Several different water sports can be practiced here, for the little ones there is a water paradise. Just like Willemstad Jan Thielbaai has a tropical savannah climate characterized by a dry and a wet period. During the second part of the year there is a risk of tropical storms. Once every few years a tropical storm may become a hurricane. Humidity figures are slightly higher during this period than during the rest of year. The temperature of the sea is pleasant all year round.
