The climate of Coral Bay (Cyprus)
Coral Bay is a popular tourist resort just outside the city of Peyia on the Mediterranean Sea. Coral Bay is known for its beautiful beaches. The beaches of Coral Bay have been awarded the Blue Flag, an environmental quality mark. In order to be awarded this mark a beach has to meet strict regulations. The swimming water has to be of excellent quality, the beach has to be clean, there have to be enough toilets and waste bins and there has to be a first aid post. The beach of Coral Bay is about 600 meters long and is situated in between two limestone rocks.
Coral Bay has a Mediterranean climate strongly influenced by the Mediterranean Sea. Because of this influence winters are very pleasant by European standards. During the summer it may be very warm with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius. During the summer hardly any rain falls. Most precipitation falls during the winter. The temperature of the sea is suitable for swimming all year round and most pleasant during the summer.

Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
