The climate of La Libertad (El Salvador)
La Libertad lies in the district of the same name and is a roaring coast-town. The town is one of the best surf destinations in Central America. Therefore various good surfspots can be found there and many hotels offer extra facilities for surfing. Besides surfing you can relax perfectly on the beautiful sandy beaches. “La Costa del Bálsamo” and “La Costa del Sol” are popular beaches in the vicinity.
The climate in La Libertad is a monsoon climate. Then there is a long rainy period from May up to and including October. Heavy showers fall during this period. Particularly the afternoon and evening-hours can be fairly humid. Because of the rain the air-humidity is very high and it may feel damp, even when it does not rain. From November it gets drier although also in the dry period a shower may fall every now and then.
