The climate of Southampton (England)
Southampton is located in the south western part of England and is a
very good starting point for exploring the region. You can take a
ferry to the Isle of Wight from here or admire Stonehenge on the
Salisbury Plains. Southampton itself is known for its many theatres
and concert halls where you can visit a concert or a well-known
musical. In the old part of Southampton you can admire several
historical buildings. Because Southampton is located on the south west
coast it has a milder climate than other places in England. Rain falls
all year round with a peak in December and January. During the winter
night time temperatures are just above freezing point. During the day
temperatures are around 5 degrees Celsius. Summers are sunny and warm
with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius.
