The climate of Aquitania (France)
Aquitania is the area situated in the south-west of France at the rough Bay of Biscay. This bay is particularly known for its hard wind and you will certainly notice this on the Aquitania beaches. The beaches make a real surfers’ paradise. But also the rest of the region is very diversified with its vineyards around Bordeaux, the splendid Dordogne or the beautiful forests of Les Landes. The influence of the sea is generally very strong, which is the reason that Aquitania has a very moderate sea climate. In the summer it does not get really warm, about 20 degrees Celsius. And in the winter the temperature seldom decreases below 10 degrees Celsius.
