The climate of Fakarava (French Polynesia)
Fakarava is a small atoll in the west of the Tuamotu Archipelago in
French Polynesia. Rotoava is the capital of the island; Tetemanu is
another large city on the island. The island has a population of about
700. A popular holiday resort can be found on the island. Several
beautiful coral churches can be found on the island. Many of these
churches can be found in the Pacific.
Fakarava has a tropical
rainforest climate with high precipitation figures all year round.
Precipitation is much more evenly spread out over the year here than
on other islands that are part of French Polynesia. The average annual
temperature during the day is just below 30 degrees Celsius. From December till June
there is a risk of tropical storms and hurricanes. The temperature of
the sea is pleasant all year round.
