The climate of Bad Bentheim (Germany)
Bad Bentheim is a small city located in the vicinity of the border with the Netherlands in Lower Saxony. The city is known for its beautiful castle. This medieval castle is still lived in by the noble family Zu Bentheim und Steinfurt. Other parts of the castle are open to the public. The oldest parts of the castle date back to the 13th century. However, prior to this period there was also a castle on this spot. Other attractions in the city include several houses from the 17th century and a mill from the 18th century. Bad Bentheim has a maritime climate influenced by the warm Gulf stream which flows off the coasts of the Netherlands and Belgium. Because of this extremes in weather are uncommon. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year.
