The climate of Corfu (Greece)
Corfu is the most northern island of Greece and is a part of the Ionic Islands in situated in the Ionian Sea. Corfu is located off the coast of Albania. The capital of Corfu is Corfu city, also known as Kerkyra. The north of the island is very rugged with hills and rocks whilst the south of the island has a flat landscape. Paleokastritsa is one of the most beautiful cities on Corfu. The city is situated on a quiet bay and has a beautiful beach. The Achilleion palace can be found on Corfu, which is empress Sissi’s palace. Corfu has a warm Mediterranean climate which is a little colder than the climate on the rest of Greece’s islands because of its northern location. Summers are pleasantly warm and sometimes even hot. During the summer the average amount of precipitation is low; long lasting rain never occurs during this period. Winters are cold and pleasant. Subzero temperatures are uncommon. During warm summer days a sea breeze is responsible for some cooling.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
