The climate of Amritsar (India)
Amritsar is the most important place for the Sikh religion. The temple in this town is situated in the middle of a large pond and has been a very important sanctuary for this religion for centuries. A view on this gold edifice with setting sun alone is worth the trip. A very long time ago this was just an open spot with a pond in the forest. Many adherents visited the place to meditate and pray. Thus Amritsar slowly developed into a big town.
Amritsar has a steppe climate. This climate is characterized by a distinction of four different seasons. The winter is agreeable as for the temperature that remains above freezing point. The summer is very warm but is followed by the monsoon period and the post monsoon period. Terribly much rain falls during this rain period and this is really not a very agreeable time to stay in this region.
