The climate of Kingston (Jamaica)
Kingston is the capital of Jamaica and has a tropical savannah climate or a savannah climate with many days of sunshine. However, there is also a fair chance of (very heavy) rain and thunderstorms. The city of Kingston was built on the ruins of Port Royal that was destroyed by an earthquake. The coldest time in Jamaica is from December to March. The rainy season lasts from May to July and from September to November. Hurricanes may occur from June to October. During the rainy periods heavy thunderstorms occur on a regular basis.
