The climate of Renesse (the Netherlands)
Renesse is located on the island of Schouwen Duiveland in the province of Zeeland/Zealand. Renesse is a popular destination among youngsters. This explains the many cafes and discotheques in Renesse. The beaches and pavilions are an important attraction during the summer. In the vicinity of Renesse the Easter Scheldt storm surge barrier is situated. The information center, Neeltje Jans, is situated halfway the storm surge barrier. Over the last few years the popular pop group Bløf organized Concert at Sea in the neighbouring municipality of Brouwershaven. Many famous Dutch and foreign artists perform here. Just like the rest of Zeeland Renesse has a moderate maritime climate with cool and wet summers and mild winters. This part of the Netherlands gets slightly less rain and has slightly higher temperatures than the rest of the country. Because the sea is shallower here than in other places the temperature of the water is slightly higher during summer and slightly colder during the winter.

The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
