The climate of Ponce (Puerto Rico)
Ponce is located on the south coast of the popular Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico and is often referred to as ‘La Perla del Sur’ which means ‘Pearl of the south”. Ponce has a tropical climate with constant temperatures all year round and fairly high precipitation figures, most of which falls during the summer. Ponce gets about 1,000 millimeters of annual precipitation. However, it should be pointed out that Ponce is located on the coast. Precipitation figures rapidly rise when you move further to the interior. It is always pleasantly warm here with daytime temperatures between 26-31 degrees Celsius (78.8-87.8 degrees Fahrenheit). Minimum temperatures are around 20 degrees Celsius (68.0 degrees Fahrenheit). Extremely high temperatures are uncommon, the highest temperature on record is 38 degrees Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit) which was recorded in August 2003. The lowest temperature on record is 10.5 degrees Celsius (50.9 degrees Fahrenheit).

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
