The climate of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Russia)
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky or Petropavlovsk for short is located in the
most eastern part of Russia in the Asiatic part of the country.
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is situated on the Kamchtsky Peninsula on the
Bay of Avacha which flows into the Pacific. The eastern part of the
peninsula regularly gets hit by earthquakes. Despite its situation on
the ocean Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has a cool continental climate with
reasonably cold winters and cool summers. Winters are cold with -10
degrees Celsius on average. The coldest temperature on record is -31.7
degrees Celsius. Summers are very moderate with temperatures between
10 and 15 degrees Celsius. The warmest temperature on record is 29.4
degrees Celsius.
