The climate of Port Elizabeth (South Africa)
Port Elizabeth, PE for short is situated on the south east coast of the East-Cape province. The Indian and Atlantic oceans are connected here. Port Elizabeth is seen as the economic capital of East-Cape. The coastal place of Port Elizabeth is famous for its popular beaches.
Port Elizabeth has a warm sea climate. During the summer temperatures are around 25 degrees on average. Rain fall is equally spread out over the year. However, during the summer months more rain falls. Winters are pleasant. Subzero temperatures are uncommon. Port Elizabeth’s nick name is Windy City. Bear in mind that a wind-chill makes for a colder feel than thermometers indicate. The highest temperature on record is just over 40 degrees Celsius. These kinds of extremes are rare though because of the cooling effect of the sea.
