The climate of Sun City (South Africa)
Sun City is a luxury resort located in the North West Cape province in South Africa. Despite its name Sun City is not really a city. It is a reserved area on the southern side of Pilanesberg. This city was built here because of its good position vis-à-vis Johannesburg and Pretoria and the pleasant climate. The area has several luxurious hotels, two golf courses, a large swimming paradise with beach, a theatre and lots of accommodations for gambling and eating. It can be seen as a mini Las Vegas in South Africa.
Visitors can enjoy the pleasant warm savannah climate (type Bsh according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification). Winters are warm and dry. Summers are even warmer with a slight chance of rain. In general: most days have a lot of sunshine and chances of rain are small especially during the winter.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
