The climate of Ceuta (Spain)
Ceuta is one of the two Spanish exclaves on the African continent, the other one is Melilla. Ceuta is a Spanish autonomous city located in the most northern part of Morocco on the Strait of Gibraltar. As opposed to Melilla Ceuta is still a free port despite the fact that EU law applies. The city has been dispensed from European tax laws. Every year many tourists travel here to buy perfume, liquor and cigarettes. A ferry sails between Spain and Ceuta on a daily basis. Most people who live here are originally Spanish, this is also why they do not want to become a part of Morocco. Just like most Spanish coastal places Ceuta has a moderate maritime climate influenced by both the Atlantic Oceana and the Mediterranean Sea. The Atlantic Ocean supplies cold water to this region which affects the climate. Most precipitation can be recorded during the winter. Summers may be dry.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
