The climate of Zurich (Switzerland)
Zurich is located in a valley on Lake Zürich. Because of the presence of mountains the climate is quite unstable here. Large differences in temperature may occur between day and night because of the thin air. However, temperatures are higher here than in other parts of the country because the city is situated on the south side of the mountain. During the summer temperatures are pleasant along Lake Zürich. However, temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius are uncommon. Zürich is a city of freethinkers. Many philosophers took refuge here. Lenin fled here prior to the Russian revolution. Many beautiful museums with vast collections can be found here such as the Kunsthaus (house of arts).
