The climate of Everglades (Florida
- United States of America)
Everglades National park is located in the most southern part of
Florida. Because of its unique habitat it is home to many unique
animal and plant species (crocodiles, Florida panthers). The
Everglades are an important tourist attraction in Florida. The scenery
is very special because of the subtropical climate and a meandering
river. During the summer temperatures are about 32 degrees Celsius (90
degrees Fahrenheit). The rainy period is from May till October.
Because of these circumstances a very large swamp can be found here.
When you visit the Everglades you can go to the Ernest Coe visitors’
Center or the Shark Valley Visitors center. These two main entrances
provide lots of information on bicycle tracks and footpaths through
the park. You can also go canoeing or explore the park in a hot air
balloon. Bear in mind that if you visit the park during the rainy
season there are lots of mosquitoes and other insects.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
