The climate of Fort Worth (Texas
- United States of America)
Fort Worth is a large city located in the northern part of the state
of Texas in Tarrant, Denton and Wise County on the banks of the
Trinity River. The city was founded during the second part of the 19th
century as a military post which had to protect the colonists from the
Indians. When oil was found here at the beginning of the 20th century
the city flourished and rapidly became one of the biggest and most
important cities in Texas. Nowadays it is the fifth largest city in
the state. Fort Worth was voted ‘America’s Most Livable Community’
several times. The old city center was mainly built in the Art Deco
style. Fort Worth has a warm maritime climate with most precipitation
during early summer. On average, most precipitation can be recorded in
May. During the winter subzero temperatures during the night are not
uncommon. During the summer temperatures may rise. Fort Worth is
located in Tornado Alley.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
