The climate of Wichita Falls (Texas
- United States of America)
Wichita Falls is a large city located in the northern part of the
state of Texas in the vicinity of the border with the state of
Oklahoma. The city is located on the banks of the Wichita River after
which the city was named. The city flourished during the first few
decades of the 1900s. outside the city Sheppard Air Force Base can be
found. The Midwestern State University can be found in the city. One
of the attractions in the city is the world’s smallest skyscraper.
Wichita Falls has a warm maritime climate. Because of its location in
the north the climate here is not as strongly influenced by the Gulf
of Mexico as in most places in Texas. During the winter subzero
temperatures may occur. However, subzero temperatures can mainly be
recorded during the night. Summers are very warm. Temperatures of 40
degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) or higher are not uncommon.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
