The climate of Luanda (Angola)
Luanda is the capital of the African country of Angola. Luanda is
situated on the Atlantic Ocean. Due to its natural harbour it has an
excellent position within the logistic process in this region.
Luanda’s port is very important in the sugar, cotton, coffee and salt
trade. The city is over four centuries old and a large number of
foreign companies have branches and offices here.
Luanda has a warm steppe climate (type BSh according to the Köppen
climate classification) with warm summers and very mild winters.
During the winter hardly any rain falls in Luanda. From November
chances of precipitation increase rapidly till it reaches its peak
with 117 millimeters of rain during the wettest month. From May
chances of rain decrease rapidly.
