The climate of M'banza-Kongo (Angola)
M'banza-Kongo is a small town in the north western part of Angola in
the Zaire province. It is also the capital of this province.
M'banza-Kongo is not far from the border with Congo-Brazzaville also
known as the Republic of Congo. In the city the M’banza-Congo
cathedral can be found. Some say this is the first church built south
of the equator. Other sources say otherwise. Because of this the
cathedral is a UNESCO world heritage site.
M’banza-Congo has a tropical savannah climate with a clear wet and a
clear dry period. The wet period is from October till April. However,
rain is not uncommon during May. The rest of the year the weather is
as good as dry. Temperatures are pleasant all year round. However,
during warm and wet days humidity figures may rise.
