The climate of Codrington (Antigua and Barbuda)
Codrington is the only and consequently largest town on the island of
Barbuda. The total population of this village is almost 1,000 people.
The village was named after its first governors: the Codringtons. The
main source of income here are fishery and agriculture. The fortress
which was built in the 16th century was completely destroyed by a
heavy earthquake. The village has a few local shops. Codrington has a
tropical savannah climate which has a dry and a wet period. The first
half of the year is drier than the second half of the year. Because of
the heavy rainfall humidity figures are much higher during the second
part of the year. During this period there is also a risk of tropical
storms and hurricanes. Daytime temperatures are around 30 degrees
Celsius on average. The sea water is very pleasant; about 28 degrees
Celsius.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
