The climate of Ganja (Azerbaijan)
Ganja is the second largest city in Azerbaijan and is located in the
north western part of the country. The city is situated in the Kapaz
mountain range. The Ganja River flows through Ganja. Ganja has had
several names throughout history including Yelizavetpol and Kirovabad.
Several beautiful mosques can be found in Ganja. Ganja’s town hall
also is well worth visiting.
Ganja has a warm china climate with little annual rainfall. Summers
are pleasantly warm and sometimes even hot because of its leeward
situation. The climate is greatly influenced by the Kapaz mountain
range. Winters are cold and subzero temperatures are not uncommon. In
the highest regions heavy snowfall is not uncommon.
