The climate of Sylhet (Bangladesh)
Sylhet is located in the north eastern part of Bangladesh on the Surma
River. The city has beautiful surroundings. Hills where tea is grown,
Natural Parks and a unique plant and animal life. After centuries of
foreign occupation the city has many beautiful old buildings and
remains from different dynasties and cultures. For instance: the holy
Hazrat Shah Jalal mausoleum can still be admired. Many museums,
exhibitions and shopping malls can be found here as well.
Sylhet has a warm China climate. This type of climate has long, hot
and wet summers and a relatively cool winter. During the winter
temperatures of 12 degrees Celsius can be recorded. Compared to the
rest of the region this is rather cold. Summers are very warm though.
Most of the rain falls from May till September.
