The climate of Flemish Ardennes (Belgium)
The Flemish Ardennes have little to do with the more famous Walloon
Ardennes. It is called the Flemish Ardennes because of the hilly
landscape which is famous with racing cyclists, mountain bikers and
walkers. The region is situated in east Flanders between Ghent and the
French border. The following places are part of this region:
Oudenaarde, Zottegem, Ronse and Geraardsbergen. Because of the
Hotondberg, the Oudenberg and the Kluisberg annual racing cycling
classics are held here. Even the Tour de France came through this
region once. The Flemish Ardennes have a moderate rainy climate
strongly influenced by the Warm Gulf Stream from the Atlantic Ocean.
Summers are rather wet. Winters are pleasantly mild.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
