The climate of Natitingou (Benin)
Natitingou is a city in the western part of Benin not far from the
border with Togo. Pendjari National Park is situated in the vicinity.
This National Park is very popular with tourists. During the first few
months of the year you can spot elephants, West-African Lions, hippos,
buffalos and several species of antelopes here. Pendjari National Park
is situated on the Pendjari River bordering the National Park of Arli
in the north, which is situated in Burkina Faso. Natitingou has a warm
savannah climate with high temperatures all year round. There is one
distinct rainy period here from April till October. Especially in
August and September a lot of precipitation can be expected. During
the warmest months of the year the Harmattan winds may occur. This
type of wind transports dry and dusty air from the Sahara to Benin.
However, this type of wind offers some cooling during the hottest

of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain

extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
