The climate of Botswana
Botswana is a country located in the southern part of Africa,
centrally situated above South Africa. The largest part of Botswana
consists of the Kalahari Desert. However, if you take a look at
precipitation figures this area qualifies more as a semi-desert which
changes into a hilly steppe area in the north. Botswana has two types
of climate: a warm desert climate (type BWh) and a warm steppe climate
(type BSh). Winters are reasonably warm and very dry. During the
summer chances of rain increase and temperatures rise to tropical
values of 30+ degrees Celsius.
