The climate of Belem (Brazil)
Belem is located in the north-east of Brazil on the mouth of the
Amazon River. Belem is the capital of the state of Pará. Because of
its situation on the mouth of the Amazon River Belem is an important
starting point for travelers and tourists that want to explore the
Amazon. Off the coast of Belem about 55 islands can be found. Most of
which are uninhabited. However, some of them have beautiful beaches.
Belem is also known as the city of mango trees. Throughout the city
many mango trees can be found. When the fruit becomes ripe the whole
city smells of the sweet smell of ripe mangos. The most famous market
in Belem is the quayside Ver-o-Peso market. It has more than 2,000
stalls with a wide variety of merchandise.
Belem has a tropical rainforest climate strongly influenced by the
Amazon River. It is wet here all year round without a distinct dry
period. However, October and November are slightly drier than the rest
of the year. Temperatures are constant all year round. However, peaks
of 40 degrees Celsius or even warmer are not uncommon.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
