The climate of Macapá (Brazil)
Macapá is located in the north eastern part of Brazil and is the
capital of the state of Amapá. The city is situated precisely on the
equator; the Marco Zero monument was built to mark the equatorial
line. The main source of income comes from Gold, iron and tin mines.
After Macapá there are no more roads so if you would like to travel
further south you should do so by plane or boat. Macapá is part of the
Amazon and its climate is influenced by the Amazon River.
Macapá has a tropical rainforest climate. There is much rainfall
throughout the year without a real dry period. However, October and
November are a little less wet than the rest of the year. Temperatures
are reasonably constant all year round. However, peaks of 40 degrees
Celsius or even above are not uncommon. Humidity figures may be high
because of the presence of the Amazon River.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
