The climate of Lanzhou (China)
Lanzhou is a city situated on the old silk route in China. The city is
situated in a valley on the banks of the Yellow River. One of the most
beautiful attractions in the city is the Five Springs Park. Besides
several natural springs you can admire several beautiful examples of
Buddhist architecture. Lanzhou has a cold steppe climate. Where
humidity figures are concerned Lanzhou is situated in a transitional
zone between a desert climate and a tropical climate. Most of the rain
falls from May till October, summers are very wet and warm. Winters
are cold and dry, because of the drought snowfall is uncommon. Because
Lanzhou is situated in a valley on the leeward side of the mountains
pollution figures are high. During the dry winter sandstorms that come
from the Gobi desert are not uncommon.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
