The climate of Southern Dalmatia (Croatia)
Southern Dalmatia consists of the southern part of the coast of
Croatia and is separated from the rest of Croatia by a 4 kilometer
long coastal line which is part of Bosnia Herzegovina. Southern
Dalmatia is also known as the Dubrovnik Riviera, named after the city
of Dubrovnik which is located in this region. Many cultural historic
attractions can be found here as well as beautiful scenery. The
swimming season starts in April, till late October the deep blue and
clear sea is very suitable for swimming. Southern Dalmatia gets about
250 sunny days per year. The lovely weather causes a rich variety of
subtropical plants and flowers to grow here. The average annual
temperature is about 17 degrees Celsius.
