The climate of Cayo Guillermo (Cuba)
Cayo Guillermo is situated off the north coast of Cuba and is part of
the Jardines del Rey archipelago. Cayo Guillermo is a very popular
holiday destination, especially for those who like luxurious resorts.
The mainland can be reached by the adjacent island of Cayo Coco. Cayo
Guillermo was immortalized by Hemingway in his novel “Islands in the
stream”. Many beautiful beaches can be enjoyed here where you can go
diving and snorkeling. Diving in the area of the six kilometer long
coral reef is especially worthwhile. Cayo Guillermo has a savannah
climate. Cayo Guillermo’s climate is very pleasant. Summers can be
quite warm. However, an ever present sea wind is responsible for a
cooling breeze. During the summer months heavy rainfall is not
uncommon. This rainfall can be compared to taking a shower. Tourists
prefer the period from November till April for a visit to Cayo
Guillermo because there is little rainfall during this period.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
