The climate of Jan Thielbaai (Curaçao)
Jan Thielbaai (bay) is a popular beach in Willemstad, Curacao. The
beach is situated in the southeastern part of Willemstad. The beach is
mainly popular because of the many resorts that can be found here. For
those who don’t stay in one of these resorts there is an entrance fee
for the beach. A large restaurant can be found on the beach. Several
different water sports can be practiced here, for the little ones
there is a water paradise. Just like Willemstad Jan Thielbaai has a
tropical savannah climate characterized by a dry and a wet period.
During the second part of the year there is a risk of tropical storms.
Once every few years a tropical storm may become a hurricane. Humidity
figures are slightly higher during this period than during the rest of
year. The temperature of the sea is pleasant all year round.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
