The climate of Bayahibe (Dominican Republic)
Bayahibe is a small fishing village on the east coast of the Dominican
Republic. Several resorts are in the vicinity. Bayahibe is a major
port for the largest island in the Dominican Republic, Isla Saona. On
this island a Natural Reserve can be found. Bayahibe is very popular
with divers. Several coral reefs and ship wrecks can be found in the
vicinity. In this region you can swim with dolphins. You can also go
on a Jeep safari or on a catamaran trip. Bayahibe is a 30-minute drive
from La Romana.
Just like other parts in the Dominican Republic Bayahibe has a
tropical climate. The year can be divided into two seasons. A rainy
season and a dry season. The rainy season coincides with our summer
and rainfall is quite fierce. Rainfall sometimes is so heavy that it
can be compared to taking a shower. Tropical storms and hurricanes are
not uncommon during this period. The dry season is the best time to
visit Bayahide. Both temperatures and humidity figures are pleasant
during this period.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
