The climate of San Miguel (El Salvador)
San Miguel lies in the south-east of El Salvador and was founded in
1530 by the Spanish captain C. Luis de Moscoso. The town developed
into an important centre for the chemical and textile industry. Also
many agricultural products are produced in the surroundings . San
Miguel has also got a roaring nightlife. The most important festival
of the town in November is well-known throughout America. During this
cultural carnival people dance, eat and celebrate and that has
happened since 1559.
San Miguel has a tropical savannah climate. This climate is
characterized by an average month temperature not lower than 18
degrees. However, unlike other tropical climates, the climate has a
distinct dry period in the winter. There must be at least one month
with less precipitation than 60 mm. In this climate most precipitation
falls in the summer months.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
