As one of the few regions in France Alsace has a land climate. This
region with an eventful history has splendid sceneries with
picturesque panel-work houses. Although Alsace also belonged to
Germany in the past the inhabitants feel very French. The summers
in Alsace are sunny and warm, which of course benefits the wine from
this region very much. The winters of a land climate are wet
and cold although in Alsace these are somewhat tempered by the
overgrowth of the adjacent mountain ranges. .
