The climate of Corsica (France)
The Isle of Corsica has a typical Mediterranean Sea climate with warm
summers and humid winters. At least that can be said about
the coastal areas of the island. Corsica has very capricious
differences in height and this also causes huge differences in
temperature. Thus the most mountainous part of Corsica has an Alpine
climate with which, even in the summer months, one has to
reckon with ice and snow if one goes there for a walk. The Corsican
weather is strongly influenced by the wind. The wind almost
always blows there to a greater or less extent and once again this
also has a great influence on the temperature. Thus the
Maestrale provides a pleasant cool breeze in the summer, the Grecale
rain in the spring and autumn and the Tramuntale cold in the
winter.
