The climate of Quimper (France)
Quimper is a town in the most southern end of Brittany and a
stronghold of Breton folklore. Year after year this beautiful old town
is the scenery of Les Grandes Fêtes de Cornouaille, a festival which
entirely turns on the Breton folklore. One would expect that this
fishing-port situated at the sea has a stormy climate. However nothing
could be less true. The summers are lovely and warm due to the warm
gulfstream running along the coast. This causes also in the winter a
reasonable temperature. The weather can break quickly however under
the influence of wind and sea. Fortunately rain never lasts long in
Brittany. There is almost as much rainfall as in the south of France.
