The climate of Tignes (France)
Tignes is a popular wintersport resort in the French Alps and is part
of the district of Albertville. Tignes is situated near the skiregion
Espace Killy, which is connected with Val-d’Isère. The old village of
Tignes lay in the valley but because of the construction of a
flood-control dam it was flooded and the inhabitants sought safety
higher on the hill. Also in the summer months you can ski here but
mainly on the flanks of the Grande Motte. The small village is located
at about 200 meters distance from the skilifts.
