The climate of Val Thorens (France)
Val Thorens is a popular wintersport resort in the French Alps at
approximately eight kilometers from Les Menuires and with an altitude
of 2300 meters it is the highest one in Europe. Val Thorens belongs to
the ski-region les trois Vallées, which, with 600 kilometers of
ski-runs, 130 kilometers of loipes and 200 lifts, is the largest in
the world. Because of the many forests here it is ideal to go
off-piste. The winters here are cold but agreeable; in the summer
months the temperature rises considerably here. In the summer months
this area lends itself pre-eminently to various outdoor activities.
