The climate of Augsburg (Germany)
Augsburg is located in the southern part of Germany in the state of
Bavaria. Augsburg is a large city with a population figure of more
than 250,000. Augsburg is located on one of the most popular routes
in Germany: the Romantische Strasse (Romantic Street). This route
takes you from Wurzburg to Fussen. The most famous attractions in
the city are the town hall built in renaissance style, the Perlach
Bell Tower, the gothic abbey and the cathedral which dates back to
the 9th century. During the 1972 Olympic Games the canoeing event
was held in Augsburg. The most important soccer team is FC Augsburg.
Augsburg has a moderate maritime climate with a wet period from May
till September. During this period more than twice the amount of
precipitation can be recorded of the amount that falls during the
rest of the year. During the winter nights may be cold. Temperatures
hardly rise above freezing point.
