The climate of Bottrop (Germany)
Bottrop is mainly known because the famous amusement park ‘Movie Park
Germany’ is situated nearby. This amusement park offers about 40
attractions and is all about movies. It is one of the biggest
amusement parks in Europe. If you don’t like amusement parks you can
visit several museums in Bottrop including the ‘Junges Museum’ which
is especially for youngsters. The climate of Bottrop is strongly
influenced by warm air supplied by both the Atlantic Ocean and the
North Sea. Because of this temperatures are tempered all year round.
During fall heavy showers are not uncommon. During this period the
temperature of the sea is still fairly high which may cause heavy
rainfall. During the winter subzero temperatures can be recorded
during a few weeks. However, it does not get extremely cold. During
the summer high temperatures are uncommon because of the influence
of the sea. However, when an easterly wind blows temperatures may
rise up to 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit).

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
