The climate of Oberhausen (Germany)
Oberhausen is located in the federal state of North Rhineland
Westphalia in the Ruhr Area in the western part of Germany. After
Oberhausen was awarded town rights it absorbed several boroughs and
became a real city in 1901. Oberhausen is located just over the
Dutch border near Arnhem and attracts many Dutch tourists. Most
tourists travel here to go shopping in the large mall, or visit the
sea life aquarium which is the largest in Germany. During the
Christmas period Oberhausen changes into one large Christmas market.
In almost all streets stalls can be found that sell any Christmas
article you can think of. Oberhausen has a moderate maritime climate
with pleasantly warm summers. Winters are mild with average
temperatures around freezing point. Precipitation figures here are
slightly higher than in other parts of the country. This is because
rain clouds run into their first real obstacles here.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
